A Fond Farewell from Lake View

After many wonderful years of welcoming guests to Portinscale, Lake View Guest House has officially closed its doors.

We want to extend our deepest gratitude to all our guests, past and present, who chose to stay with us. From those who visited once to the familiar faces who returned year after year, you have made this journey truly special. It has been an absolute privilege to be a small part of your Lake District memories.

Thank you for your support, your stories, and for making Lake View more than just a guest house.

    which to enjoy Keswick and its surrounding valleys.
    Newlands and Borrowdale both lead to the door of
    "Lake View" and so numerous walks of varying demands are readily available.

Welcome To Lake View

'LAKEVIEW' is an imposing Edwardian house situated in the Lakeland village of Portinscale. Enjoying an elevated south facing position, it offers views of lakes and fells. Three comfortably furnished bedrooms offer En-Suite facilities. Portinscale is approximately one mile west of the market town of Keswick, only a 15 minute easy walk into Keswick or 5 minute drive.


Alternatively a half mile walk will take you to the nearest jetty where regular launches will take you around Lake Derwentwater. There is a sailing club, a great local pub (the Farmers Arms) and endless opportunities for walks and cycle rides, but the loveliest thing about Portinscale is its peace and quiet.
